WESLEY FOOD PANTRY MINISTRY
HISTORY: Our congregation supported a local food pantry for a number of years, before starting our own pantry. We began serving local families and inviting them to worship with us in 2006 and have continued since.
MISSION: Our mission is to provide food and personal care items to families, when they have a hard time making ends meet due to a temporary or unexpected financial hardship. We serve on a one-time basis, based on need. We have adult and children’s devotional materials available if needed, as well as our Pastor as a resource. Families can be included on our church newsletter mailing list if they desire.
BELIEF: Following the example of Christ, we desire to serve, encourage and share with one another. We base our belief on scripture: Matthew 25:31-40, Luke 3:11, Romans 12:13 and Deuteronomy 15:7-8.
REFERRALS: We are an on-call pantry and do not accept walk-ins. Families need to call the church office 842-3768 to request help from the pantry. Our office staff will contact one of the food pantry team members who will contact the family. All referrals are kept confidential. Families will set up a time to meet the team member at church to pick up food.
DONATIONS: All items in our pantry are donated by our congregation and friends of the church. We do not receive any government funding.
