WESLEY FOOD PANTRY MINISTRY
Dear Wesley Church Members,
On Monday, June 21st, 4 members of our food pantry team helped with a community
wide food drive organized by the United Way. Many companies around the area
collected food and created a sculpture with their collections on the 400 block
downtown Wausau. These creations were judged by the
United Way panel and the public was able to vote for
their favorite by donating a food item.
All food collected was divided between the
Neighbor’s Place, Salvation Army, Wesley,
First Presbyterian, Covenant Community
Presbyterian, Community Center of Hope in
Mosinee, and ARCW. Our responsibilities were
to bag, box and tally items. We enjoyed our
evening of helping our community.
We continue to appreciate all the donations, food and cash that the congregation gives.
It is especially helpful for us to receive weekly donations of food items. We will
continue to shop and search for the weekly bargains, but having some items come in
weekly really helps keep our inventory stocked until we have time to shop, or until a
specific item goes on sale. Items needed are usually listed in the Sunday bulletins.
Thanks for your belief in this ministry and for your faithful prayer support.
The families we serve are deeply appreciative.
